Many people have asked about The Institute’s building and the reason for its existence. The need for an upscale facility was determined by our patients and by our desire to provide a very private, safe, and comfortable setting where the quality of care was tightly controlled. The style is based upon a 17th century French Manor House and was designed by Dr. Rusca in collaboration with William Sonner, Architect, of New Orleans and constructed more than 10 years ago. The entire facility is a Class A fire rated structure in which only concrete, cement stucco, steel and other non-combustible materials were used in its construction. The design incorporated as many patient conveniences as possible, including a rear porte cochere for weather protected patient drop off and pickup, large medical-sized elevator for wheelchairs and gurneys, slip resistant stained concrete floors, fire resistant concrete or metal doors, and natural light throughout. The idea was to produce a highly functional medical office without the sterile look of most medical facilities. After all, our patients are not sick. We wanted to create a warm and inviting facility with appropriate accoutrements for our patients to enjoy.
The Surgery Center, to the contrary, is a super sterile environment. Only aesthetic surgery procedures are allowed within that facility. In order to prevent contamination of the Center, no one with an infection of any type may enter into the operating rooms. And, as a matter of fact, after thousands of successful surgeries done in the Surgery Center, there have been no cases of postoperative infections. The IAS Surgery Center is an AAAASF accredited facility which is inspected yearly and meets all the stringent requirements of this highly respected organization.

Our nurses and surgical personnel have many years of experience and are hand picked for that experience and knowledge of plastic surgery procedures and patient care.
The IAS Hospitality Suite is an extension of the care received after surgery. An ultra secure facility housed within The Institute, it is a home away from home for post surgical patients requiring attentive care or for those who just want a place to recuperate away from the hustle and bustle of their own homes. Around-the-clock private duty nurses with more than 20 years of experience in taking care of our patients will cater to your every need while providing the required post surgical treatments ordered by the physician. Patients routinely rave about the quality of care received from their nurses and for the ambience of the Hospitality Suite.
Like the above, The Spa has developed out of a need by our patients for “Skin Care That Makes A Real Difference”. Whether it is to prevent the need for surgery or to prolong the good effects after surgery, our aestheticians are especially trained in the care and maintenance of the skin.

We firmly believe that routine Photo facials, Microdermabrasion, Fraxel, Thermage, and most other mechanical treatments are not only unnecessary but frequently harmful to the skin and therefore we do not advocate their use. Most signs of aging skin can be successfully treated with today’s new highly engineered skin creams – both OTC products and prescription products, and for a lot less money and less time invested, and, without downtime from work or play.
The Institute for Aesthetic Surgery was conceived as a resource for excellence in Aesthetic Surgery and to supply patients who are looking for this experience with everything needed - housed under one roof.
